Identify the complete motor and driver arrangement
An Oriental Motor enquiry may concern an open-loop stepper, a closed-loop system, a geared motor or a linear actuator. Record the motor, driver and any controller codes. A motor with a similar frame size or holding torque is not necessarily a usable substitute.
The catalogue includes AlphaStep AZ, PKP stepper and EAC actuator entries. These identify different product types and integration arrangements. If the installed system provides absolute position or a particular homing strategy, describe the behaviour that must be retained after replacement.
Compare torque at the working speed
Holding torque describes one condition, not the torque available throughout a move. Provide speed, acceleration, load inertia, mechanism and cycle timing. Supply voltage, driver settings and motor winding affect the operating envelope, so a bare motor comparison can be misleading.
For a geared motor, include ratio, output shaft, backlash, bearing loads and mounting. For an actuator, add stroke, guidance, load moments and the motor-adapter arrangement. State whether original cabling and machine mounting must remain.
Open-loop, closed-loop or servo?
A replacement review should establish why the current arrangement is being changed. If the problem is lost steps, investigate binding, resonance, acceleration and operating torque before assuming that another technology is required. A servo package may be suitable for some duties, but changing technology can introduce different feedback, controller and commissioning requirements.
For absolute-position systems, confirm what the controller must know after power returns. A high resolution or a closed-loop description does not establish identical multi-turn behaviour or command compatibility.
Request original sourcing or another package
Send the full codes, operating duty, quantities and deadline. Mark which functions are essential and whether another driver, motor or actuator arrangement can be considered. We can discuss supply-network options, including suitable Motion Control Products motor and drive ranges, alongside original-part sourcing.
The servo versus stepper guide explains the broad technology choices; the complete-axis service helps define a wider quotation. A frame-size or series-level match is only an initial candidate and does not prove an Oriental Motor drop-in replacement.
Oriental Motor replacement and alternative options from our supply network
Each row compares the highest published figures for the series. A match here is a starting point: an engineer confirms the fit for your load, duty, mounting and interface before recommending anything.

Frequently asked questions
Can you source the original Oriental Motor part?
Send the full model code, quantity and required date. We can investigate the sourcing route and confirm availability, supply condition and terms for the exact item.
Is a listed alternative a guaranteed equivalent?
No. Published series figures identify candidates for review. Exact model, installation, feedback, controller, firmware and mechanical fit must be checked before recommending a replacement.
