Engineering and sourcing support for utility evs and electrification

Send us a part number, or tell us what the machine needs to do. Our UK engineers will come back with the right product, pricing, lead time and delivery, whether that is the original part, a checked alternative or a complete axis.

  • Original parts or a checked alternative
  • Pricing, lead time and delivery in one reply
  • Components, complete axes and ongoing support

No obligation. Add what you know and an engineer will help with the rest. Prefer to configure it? Build a specification.

Add quantity, timing or application notes (optional)

In short:Vehicle electrification enquiries need continuous and peak duty, cooling, supply and integration requirements alongside a motor power figure.

Motor and controller sourcing for engineered electrification

A utility EV, a vehicle conversion and a boat propulsion installation can all require a motor and controller, but they do not share one universal package. Define the intended installation, duty and thermal arrangements before comparing a power rating. For autonomous platforms, the traction controller is one part of the vehicle system, not a complete autonomy solution.

Specify Motion can help source suitable products and obtain a defined supply proposal. Our experienced UK engineering team can review a motor reference, a controller requirement or an integrated package, including pricing, delivery coordination and after-sales support arrangements.

Published RIFT conversion packages

The RIFT Motor Solutions listings identify three conversion packages: car retrofit, electric boat conversion and motorcycle conversion. These catalogue entries identify the published motor references and package-level information. Request the current contents and configuration before specifying an installation.

Do not use a package peak rating as its continuous rating. The listed motor reference does not establish the bus voltage, thermal duty or cooling arrangement for every installation, nor does a published conversion package confer road or vessel approval.

Define the application before the product

RequirementWhat to include
Vehicle or machineIntended use, available space and mechanical installation
Operating dutyContinuous demand, transient demand and time profile
Energy systemProposed supply, battery interface and charging arrangements
Thermal systemCooling method, ambient conditions and installation limits
ControlRequired interface, associated electronics and scope of integration
PurchasingPrototype and repeat quantities, target date and required support

Utility and autonomous platforms

For ground-support equipment, industrial carriers and logistics platforms, describe the actual operating cycle and the responsibility split between the traction equipment and the supervisory controller. Ask what interfaces and documentation are available. A motor marketed for autonomous applications does not by itself provide navigation, obstacle detection or a validated vehicle control system.

Marine and vehicle retrofits

Identify the existing arrangement and what the project intends to retain. Include the installation drawings, mechanical interfaces, required documents and the engineer responsible for the overall conversion. Cooling, protection and certification must be considered for the finished installation, rather than inferred from the motor’s product category.

From initial enquiry to a supply proposal

Send the full motor and controller references if known. Otherwise use the configurator to describe the requirement and ask which further information is needed. The quotation should identify the exact hardware, accessories, documents, lead time and support scope so that you can compare the complete supply proposal.

Engineer support

Our engineers are ready to help with your project

Tell us the part or application, quantity and timing. Our UK engineers will come back with the right product, pricing, lead time and delivery.

  • Reviewed by an engineer, not an autoresponder
  • Like-for-like and better-fit alternatives
  • Standard, modified and custom options

Prefer to configure it? Use the spec builder.

How it works

From enquiry to delivery

Send a part number or describe the application. Our engineers take it from there: the right product, a clear quotation, and delivery and support arranged.

  1. Tell us what you needSend a part number, or configure the application, quantities and timing.
  2. An engineer reviews itWe check the specification and find the original part, a checked equivalent or a complete axis.
  3. Receive your quotationProducts, pricing, lead time and compatibility notes in one reply.
  4. Order and deliveryWhen you are happy, the order is placed and delivery and after-sales support are arranged.
